Updated: Nov 28, 2020

Spicy chicken cheesesteak. Anyone that’s lived in Philly, went to school in Philly, or has visited friends in colleges in the Philly area more than likely knows about Little Sicily’s. & if you don’t you were robbed of the BEST meal ever. BUT don’t you worry because I am bringing that best spicy chicken cheesesteak you’ve ever had right to your kitchen!

This literally is my favorite, favorite, favorite type of chicken cheesesteak. I remember driving to Little Sicily’s all the time when I lived in the city, worked in the city, and when I would go to the city to see my sister. COVID-19 has put a full stop to my Little Sicily’s trips sadly however, I think I’ve actually mastered this spicy chicken cheesesteak.

Ingredients

1lb ground chicken

Garam masala

Salt

1 Serrano pepper

1/2 red onion

Cilantro

Olive oil

Butter

Pepper Jack cheese

Mayo

Amoroso Rolls

Rolls:

1. Put butter on the outside of the rolls and bake in the oven at 400 degree for about 7 -10 mins. You’ll want to check on the rolls because you want want the roll to get too crispy

2. Once the rolls are done. Pull them out and on the inside layer with Mayo

  1. 1. In a medium/large sized pot heat 1 tbs of olive oil on medium/high heat

  2. 2. Once the oil is heated add in the diced onions and chopped Serrano pepper and store together. Add a pinch of salt, stir until the onions become soft - not too soft though

  3. 3. Add in the ground chicken and break it up using a wooden spatula

  4. 4. Once the chicken is cooked add in 2 Tbs of garam masala and salt to taste and mix well. (Taste it and if you feel like you would want more heat to it add in more garam masala and or another Serrano pepper)

  5. 5. Add in the cilantro and mix well

  6. 6. Turn the heat to low and put slices of the pepper Jack cheese around the chicken and put a lid over it and cover until the cheese melts

  7. Spread mayo inside of your rolls

  8. Stuff your rolls and it’s gobble gobble time

ENJOY!
