Masala Kitchen Style Khati Rolls

Anytime I go to the city I depending on what I am craving I make it a point to go to Masala Kitchen if I want Indian food and my favorite thing to get from there is their Khati Rolls. It's not often that I go into the city anymore (living in the burbs - I hate making that drive into the city more than anything). So I decided to make my own version of Khati Rolls that resembles and taste just as good as the ones you can get at Masala Kitchen!

Ingredients:

  • Swad - Tandoori Masala

  • Frozen Cubed Paneer (I use whatever is on sale! Paneer is expensive)

  • Plain Parathas (I use the Kawan brand) but you can use whatever you like

  • Garam Masala

  • Sliced Red or White Onion

  • Sliced Green Peppers

  • Yogurt

  • Garlic Powder

  • White Sauce (bought from Masala Kitchen - they sell bottles.. You can make your own using mayo, garlic powder, chilli powder, black pepper)

  • Red Sauce (bought from Masala Kitchen - they sell bottles)

Directions:

  1. Marinate the paneer at least an hour or so before you start to cook. Take the cubed paneer and add in 1 big scoop of plain yogurt, 1 tsp of garam masala, and 3 tsp of tandoori masala. Mix well, cover and leave it in the refrigerator for at minimum 1 hour.

  2. Once you've marinated your paneer in a non stick pan heat up 1 tsp of oil on medium to low heat and add in your marinated paneer. Cook the paneer until it is slightly charred on all sides.

  3. On a different pan make your paratha (you can use naan or your preference of any bread you like)

  4. Once you've made your paratha top it off with your paneer and add on sliced onions, green peppers, white sauce and red sauce

  5. Serve hot with additional white sauce and red sauce
